Rules of Test Participation

By participating in an exam administered by AAFIE, you agree to abide by the Rules of Test Participation set forth herein and all rules, requirements, and policies specified or referenced on the aafie website and communicated to you, orally or in writing, by the Program Manager, instructors, and TAs.

1. The procedure to participate in a scheduled exam is as follows:

(1) Login to www.aafie.com with your own account (individual account);
(2) Click on My Course;
(3) Click on the course you are taking;
(4) Find the exam under the current week;
(5) Click on the name of the exam.

2. You shall practice the procedure above before the exam to make sure that:

A. You have a right individual account (e.g. your full name has the standard format of "first name + last name") based on the New Student Guide ;
B. You can find the location of the exam.

3. The start time of exam is based on the US Pacific time zone. You can configure the course center to use your local time zone (Go to My Course, click on Profile in the pull-down menu at the upper right-hand side corner, and then find "Edit Profile").

4. When you enter your exam at the start time of the exam, the system will automatically record all information about your taking the exam, including the account you used to enter the exam, the location you entered into the exam, the time you started the exam, the time you spent working on each of the questions, the websites you accessed during the exam, the time you submitted your exam, etc.

5. Using a team account or another account to participate in an exam is prohibited and the persons who did it will receive zero points.

6. The test questions are presented in multiple-choice formats. During the exam, different students will be given different questions with different answers by the system, but with the same difficulty level.

7. US standard tests are designed to maximize the number of questions you are expected to answer. The recommended time for you to work on each question is 1 minute or so. You shall not expect that you will be able to find answers from materials or Internet during the exam (you basically have no time to do so), although it is an open-book exam. A complete review of the class recordings is the best approach to prepare for your exam.

8. During the exam, if a page is stuck or frozen due to your Internet connection, please click on the refresh button on your browser. Reloading a page does not have impacts on your exam.

9. When the exam time is over, your answers will be automatically submitted, even if you don't submit them.
